Hope in a Box is a simple idea: fill one of our recognisable neon-orange boxes with useful things, honest words and trusted support, then place it responsibly somewhere an ordinary person can find it. No sign-up. No questions. Just a reminder that somebody thought about them before they even knew their name.
Every box contains one special note of encouragement. Some are written by us; others are shared by people who want their own words to reach a stranger who might need them.

WE PACK IT
We use recognisable neon-orange boxes, clearly marked with our name and tape. Every box has a special note, plus a changing mix of survival zines, stickers, winter jumpers, hats, tees and other useful surprises.
WE LEAVE IT
The boxes travel in our positive van and are placed responsibly in agreed safe spaces. Many are hosted by cafés, libraries, community groups, companies and sponsors who know exactly what they are.
YOU FIND IT
If you find one, it is yours. Keep what helps, share it with somebody else, or let the message carry you through today.

Why Hope in a Box?
We didn't want a name that sounded like a service. We wanted one that felt like a promise you could hold.
Hope does not have to be huge. Sometimes it is a kind sentence, a small comfort or proof that somebody cared enough to leave something behind for you.
Hope
Because difficult days can make the future feel very far away. Each note carries a little belief from one person to another: you matter, you are not broken, and this moment does not have to be the whole story.
In a box
Because hope can be made real. A personal note, a survival zine and a few thoughtful things become something you can find, open and hold. Some notes come from us; others come from people who simply want their encouragement to reach somebody else.
The name has the same belief at its heart as Capable Collective: people are capable, none of us should have to struggle alone, and small acts of kindness can carry real weight. We take that belief on the road and leave it where it can be found.
